Owen Sowerwine conservation project challenge match update and tours
We have some fantastic news and a new challenge to share with you regarding the Owen Sowerwine project. Our community’s support has been incredible so far, and we need your help to keep the momentum going!
Help us conserve this gem and meet a $100,000 Challenge Match!
Good news:
The Flathead Land Trust, Flathead Audubon Society, and the Flathead Lakers have achieved a significant milestone in securing funding for the project. Together, partners raised $85,000 towards our $100,000 Community Challenge Match! This amazing progress wouldn’t be possible without your support.
Additionally, the Flathead Land Trust was awarded a generous $200,000 grant from the Kendeda Fund, through the Heart of the Rockies Keep it Connected Program.; and Flathead Audubon Society received a $50,000 grant from the Whitefish Community Foundation. These grants will play a crucial role in advancing the Owen Sowerwine project.
New Challenge:
To complete the project, we still need $200,000. A final appraisal for the purchased conservation easement came up significantly higher. While partners are pursuing more grants, we also need your support to bridge this gap. Together, we can make a difference! Your donation will directly contribute to preserving this invaluable land and its ecosystems for present and future generations to enjoy. Every dollar counts, and your generosity will have a lasting impact.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. Together, we can overcome this obstacle and ensure the success of the Owen Sowerwine project. Let’s make a difference in our community!
We need your support to raise the funds for this incredible project. Donations for the project can be done to the R2L Conservation Fund,
Donations can also be sent to Flathead Land Trust, Flathead Lakers, or Flathead Audubon Society directly.
